Jesus on Your Doorstep

Nov 19, 2019

We tend to take for granted the availability of Bibles here in America, but in countries where Christianity is illegal and Christmas is outlawed, Bibles are extremely hard to come by.

This Christmas, as you make plans to celebrate the greatest gift of God’s only son, won’t you consider making the Good News available to the unreached and to believers living under the constant threat of extreme persecution?

Every $7 gift makes a Bible and discipleship materials available to a persecuted Christian, a new believer from a Muslim background or a spiritual seeker who wants to know more about Jesus.

Our Christ-centered partners on the ground in these locations not only provide Bibles to those who eagerly desire a copy of God’s Word in their own language—they also use the Bibles as tools to engage the unreached.

Abdul* had been praying for a way to reach the people of a small village in the Arabian Peninsula where there was no Christian witness. One night, he decided to secretly place a Bible on the doorstep of several homes.

After the last Bible was placed, Abdul prayed that God would keep His promise from Isaiah 55:11, “My word...will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

He continued to pray for the villagers over the next four months before he could return. He entered a café where many of the local Muslim men gathered. They asked him where he was from, why he was visiting, and eventually, if he was Muslim. Stepping out in faith, Abdul responded, “No, I’m a Christian.”

The room fell silent. Then with great excitement, the men gathered around Abdul and told him how they’d all found Bibles on their doorsteps and had been reading them ever since. “But,” they shared, “Many parts are difficult . . . can you help us understand?”

Filled with joy over God’s faithfulness, Abdul spent the next hours going over Scriptures with the men, beginning with the Gospel of John.

This is just one of many ways the Bibles you share for Christmas can be used to reach the unreached with the Good News.

Please be as generous as you can be to help those who have no other means to acquire a Bible.

Your gift of $35 will give 5 people Bibles and study materials, $70 will bless 10 people, $140 will bless 20 people with God’s Word. You can give a secure, tax-deductible donation online right now to give a gift that will light their world this Christmas!

May God’s richest blessings be yours this Christmas season!
