While persecution is a heartbreaking tragedy for millions around the world, I want to draw your attention today to the different ways it’s happening to just a few brothers and sisters in Christ.

The Gatestone Institute keeps a close eye on attacks in many countries and reports the following:

In one attack in Nigeria:

• “Victims were murdered like animals. … Valuables worth millions of naira have been lost. More than 50 houses have been burnt down to ashes, and food and cash crops were burnt to ashes, too.”

In Pakistan:

• “A Muslim man murdered a young Christian because he was ‘driven by a strong hatred for Christians and Jews.’” The intruder broke into the family’s home in the middle of the night, opened fire — hitting one son — and “held the entire family hostage at gunpoint for nearly 40 minutes, preventing them from going near the fatally injured youth.”

In Uganda:

• “A Muslim man set his wife on fire for becoming Christian.”

On and on the list could go.

But until there is no more suffering, no more persecution, no more hate and hostility ...
