Send Help // Send Hope
I woke up to sad and shocking news this morning.
Open Doors UK reports:
Days after Boko Haram militants abducted up to 200 women and children from an IDP [Internally Displaced People] camp in Borno State, north east Nigeria, another appalling attack has taken place in Kaduna State. Hundreds of children have been taken from a primary school and a secondary school in Kuriga village.
“Students were kidnapped from the school premises on Thursday morning around 8:00 am (local time). About 287 students are still in the hands of the bandits, 100 from the primary side and 187 from the secondary school,” the state’s police spokesman Mansur Hassan told CNN.
And, “it’s likely that Christian children are among those kidnapped.”
Tragically, abduction is only the beginning of what believers and others endure in Nigeria and other countries where being a Christian comes with a terribly high risk.
Violence, arson, harassment, abandonment, false imprisonment, torture, rape, and murder ...
The list of threats to our persecuted brothers and sisters is long. But I know your compassion runs deep.
Please stand with Liberty Relief International right now to minister to Christians and others across Nigeria and around the world with the practical love of Jesus.
Your gift to Liberty Relief International will help our dedicated, on-the-ground ministry partners provide relief like:
Emergency food, water, shelter, and safety.
Help for rebuilding homes, churches, and communities destroyed in violent attacks.
Counseling and emotional support for those who have experienced great trauma.
Literacy and job training for refugees and others displaced by violence.
Bibles, discipleship training, and materials for believers.
Spiritual support in the face of extreme hardship.
And more.
“More than 37,500 people are estimated to have been killed since Boko Haram’s insurgency started in 2011,” according to Open Doors.
Please keep the victims, their families, and Nigeria as a nation in your prayers.
Thank you,
Mat Staver
