Give Hope to the Hurting

A recent International Christian Concern (ICC) report details more anti-Christian violence over Easter weekend … this time in Somalia:

Suspected al-Shabab Islamic extremists killed six Christian men in Somalia on [Good] Friday. … The Christians, originally from Kenya, sold plastic goods and shared the gospel with Muslims in the Islamic town of Dhobley. …

Witnesses to the murders described four hooded men shooting the Christians near the back of the shop where they sold their goods. After killing the four merchants, the assailants set the shop on fire, killing the remaining two men.

The East Africa country of Somalia is listed as the second most dangerous nation for Christians on Open Doors’ 2024 World Watch List.

Open Doors reports that any Christian, especially converts from Islam, are “a high-value target for al-Shabab, a militant group that has repeatedly expressed its desire to eradicate Christians from the country. If discovered, believers could be killed on the spot.”
