"I heard the screams of my wife and children"

"Show mercy and compassion to one another"

“A Muslim man tried to rape a pregnant Christian woman, causing her to lose her unborn baby,” reports the Gatestone Institute.

It happened in Pakistan.

The young woman was “eight months pregnant when her Muslim co-worker invaded her home (adjoining the kiln where they worked). There he savagely beat and tried to rape her in front of her three small children. According to her husband, Nadeem:

“‘Rakhil begged and pleaded Chand to leave her repeatedly telling him to spare her and her unborn child, but he would not listen... I was working at the kiln when I heard the screams of my wife and children. I ran towards my quarters, where I saw Chand punching and kicking Rakhil, who was lying on the floor profusely bleeding.’”

In the end, the couple’s unborn son was pronounced dead after the attack and had to be delivered by emergency C-section.

It’s hard to fathom the pain and loss this family is enduring. As you lift them up in prayer today, I urge you to support Liberty Relief International and minister to persecuted Christians like this couple and their children.

People who love Jesus in Pakistan and other countries — where Muslim oppression of Christians often results in violence — are desperate for your prayers and financial help.

Give generously to empower LRI’s local, Christ-centered partners there, and elsewhere, to provide spiritual and emotional support to the suffering and physical aid to those who need it.

“This is what the Lord Almighty said:
'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor.’”
— Zech. 7:9-10

Thank you for your prayers … your care for the “stranger, orphan, and widow” ... and your generosity.

I am grateful you see the burgeoning need and that you go a step further and respond in compassionate ways to meet that need.

In His Service,

Mat Staver
