Send Help to the Hurting

Two Christian communities in Ethiopia are grieving as you read these words.

More than 60 believers were killed in the middle of the night in coordinated attacks just two weeks ago.

According to International Christian Concern, “Armed groups surrounded farming families in their homes. … Exits were blocked. Gunfire erupted. Houses were set ablaze.”

In the wake of the massacre, “Residents pleaded for police intervention, yet officers reportedly did not act, saying they lacked official orders. Families are now burying their loved ones among the ashes of what remains of their homes ...

“What is clear is the human cost: children among the dead, families shattered, and an already fragile Christian community left reeling amid years of insecurity in Ethiopia’s largest region.”

My heart grieves along with the survivors of these attacks.

Please pray with me today that the Lord would be near to the brokenhearted in these communities, in these families ...

And please also stand with LRI to minister to brothers and sisters in mourning — in Ethiopia and beyond.

I cannot imagine the depths of pain these families are facing.

Please put your compassion into action to send help to the hurting ... in Jesus’ name.

In His service,

Mat Staver
